Age Verification
If this is your first order, you will receive an email or text message after completing your order that will allow you to upload your government issued photo identification to our Real ID age verification service securely for automatic verification. You can complete this process on or your mobile phone after receiving an email or text message from Real ID.
If you would prefer to email us a scan or photo of both sides of your government issued photo ID (i.e. Driver's License, Health Card, Passport, etc.), please send it to customerservice@nicdirect.ca as soon as possible so that the shipping or pick-up of your order is not delayed.
You must be 21+ if you are ordering from the USA or International Locations
You must be 19+ if you are ordering from BC, ON, NB, NS, PEI and NFL
You must be 18+ if you are ordering from AB, SK, MB, QC, NWT or YT
Once your age is verified (after a successful online order or in-store purchase), you will no longer be required to provide proof-of-age for your orders.
WHY DO I NEED TO VERIFY MY ID?
Health Canada requires us to verify the age of our customers, and so we require ID verification to be completed after a customer places theirfirst order with us.
You’ll be sent a link to open with your phone after purchase, either to your email or via a text message. This will be your unique link that is specific to your customer record.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
After your order, we’ll send you a unique ID verification link. This will allow you to securely take a photo of your ID through an encrypted channel.
We utilize an ID verification service that will confirm the authenticity of your document as well as verify your age for legal purposes.
Your ID will be scanned for authenticity, to make sure it’s not digitally altered or is a physical counterfeit.
After you upload a photo of your ID, it will be verified within minutes and our team will be notified that you’ve passed ID verification. Your order will then be queued for fulfillment.
CAN I DELETE MY PHOTOS AFTER VERIFICATION?
Yes, we honour every photo deletion request. Just email customerservice@nicdirect.ca with your request and we’ll process it right away.
